The International Rett Syndrome Association, (IRSA) in honor of my daughter, Angela Weisz, who
has suffered with this devastating disorder for 35 years, and has been my teacher as well as my
inspiration. Their focus is family support, as well as medical research. Rett Syndrome affects
girls between 6 and 18 months of age, almost exclusively. They withdraw socially, lose any acquired
speech and hand use, and suffer from seizures, scoliosis -- eventually becoming severely disabled.
Our daughter is pictured on these pages, and although she suffers painful dystonia, when she smiles
you can feel the blessing right down to your toes. I have worked with IRSA since its inception,
and edited their international newsletter for 15 years, retiring five years ago to take on other
more pressing obligations at home.

Lewy Body Dementia Association., a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating and
helping families with Lewy Body Dementia, by funding research, chat groups for spouses and caregivers,
and educational gatherings
Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc.
Kids Alive International, is another organization geared toward helping children. Our friends, Vic and Dr. Leslie Trautwein, have been living and working in the
Dominican Republic for the past several years helping to develop a system of orphanages, schools,
and care centers. Currently, they have over 900 children in eight programs. Each child is provided
meals, academic help, Bible teachings, and lots of love. The goal is to rescue each child from an
at-risk situation, transform his or her life, then send him or her out as an impact Christian into
Dominican society.
